A new book claims Jessie J is "100 per cent gay" but was told by record bosses to hide the truth.Author of Jessie J: Who's Laughing Now Chloe Govan said: "Jessie might have been with boys in the past — but she is 100 per cent gay. Jessie was openly lesbian and didn't hide it."Being gay would alienate people. They knew how important image was and asked her to tone it down a bit. There are so many homophobes out and there were fears of a career-damaging backlash."An unauthorised biography released this month alleges that 24-year-old Jessie J was advised by music executives not to come out but to say she was bisexual because it was "trendy, exotic and a fashion statement" and would "increase her allure", the Sun reports. The Voice UK judge apparently acted on their advice, for fear of losing her record deal at Universal.
The book also alleges Jessie J realized she was a lesbian at 17 and has not had a boyfriend since.Jessie J herself said in a recent interview: "If I meet someone and I like them, I don't care if they're a boy or a girl."The unauthorised book, out today, also includes information on Jessie J's health and bullying battles, including her heart condition Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome, her stroke at 18, and the bullying she suffered when beta blockers gave her skin a green tinge.
